Whitefish is set in one of the most scenic, amazing areas in America and boasts a backdrop on 3 sides of uninterrupted beauty of mountain peaks that includes the Big Mtn.  Winter is a sowsport

enthusiasts heaven.  Summers on the beautiful shores of pristine Whitefish Lake offer a marvellous sandy beach and the landscaped public park is second to none.  Downtown Whitefish is a quaint, charming place to stroll, shop, enjoy unique restaurants and live theatre.   The majestic Glacier National Park is only 40 min. away, offering sightseeing, hiking, cross country skiing, rafting, fishing, helicopter tours,  a drive thru a "live" bear park, a waterslide park, a giant wooden maze, go-carts, and the Vortex Musuem.

 

Winter brings supurb skiing to Whitefish and scenic x-country skiing in West Glacier.  

The variety is endless for the skiers and boarders who can spend the whole time exploring from wide-open slopes to steep alpine wooded runs and uncrowded, friendly slopes where the expansive mountain peak views are breathtaking.  On Big Mtn, you'll find impeccably machine-groomed runs, steep powder runs, and well-lit night-skiing.   

Freestyle enthusiasts will enjoy the Fishbowl Terrain Park, offering  large jumps, rails, boxes and more.  All levels will enjoy a winter playground of fun and beauty during the winter season.

In summer, this wonderful, warm, friendly town offers plenty of activities including the most scenic gondola ride in the Northwest right on Whitefish Mtn.  Summer is packed of activities in NW Montana. There are numerous golf courses, lakes, and rivers nearby. Activities include:

hiking, biking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, chuck-wagon dinners, outdoor music festivals and romantic summit dining.

June, 09 brings a new Alpine Slide and Zip Line on the mtn.  

Whitefish Lake has sandy beaches, picnic tables and bbq's

under pavilions and 

docks with a public boat launch.  Downtown Whitefish is filled with unique

restaurants & brew pubs. 

 

Just South of Kalispell and within a 45 min. drive is the large "Flathead Lake" offering boat tours, windsurfiing, boat rentals and more.  Spend a day driving around the lake, stopping at the European town of Bigfork, or the charming towns of

town of Polson, Lakeside, and Sommers, all of which you'll find great restaurants and Montana-style shops.
